The main strategies of CULP are: Community mobilization and empowerment; gender equality; participatory action-reflection cycle; democratic management and faith in the learning potentials of people. As an NGO, initial work was started by the wy of conducting sponsered studies and individual cunsultancies by its members.

On the basis of its initial modest work, CULP Started getting noticed and recognized as a well-meaning organization and got its major project supported by UNICEF, Jaipur called Pehchan Project in the year 2002.
